Experts have noticed many times that the aged workers come forward during the so-called war to become the soft target for the ants.
As soon as the ants attack these old workers, a blast of the blue-colored toxic liquid; that is preset on the back of these termites; takes place.
The death of the ants that come in contact of this blue toxic material is inevitable.
At the time of the attack, blue-color copper-containing chemical present in the dorsal pouches, which are situated at the back of the old workers, reacts with the hydroquinone of the labial gland.
This chemical reaction gives birth to a toxic material known as Benzoquinone. One side-effect of this chemical reaction is the increment in the body pressure that makes these termites blast.
And the reason behind the death of the foe ants is non other than this Benzoquinone chemical.
