Amazing Science behind Popcorn Pop! - By Kishor Singh #shorts

You must have seen a popcorn pop, and the reason behind this pop is the creation of extreme pressure inside it. So let's understand how popcorns actually pop.
In order to make popcorn, we need to have a special variety of maize corn. The corn of that maize should have a hard outer layer, a high amount of starch inside it, and water in an adequate amount.
There are three major requirements that need to be fulfilled to make a popcorn pop.
First: The water percentage inside maize corn should be proper.
Second: The more starch corn contains, the better it is said to make popcorn.
Third: Undamaged outer cover or Pericap, otherwise the corn will not be able to inflate.
As soon as an adequate amount of heat is provided to the corn, the water present in it starts to evaporate, and the starch starts to take the gel form.
Because of the continuous supply of heat, a moment arrives when the steam tries to escape by cracking the outer shell. Starch present inside also comes out along with the steam, and when this gel-like starch comes in contact with the outer air, it becomes solid, and this is how you receive popcorn out of maize corn.
