Taking a sneak peek from the Bird's eye view, on one side the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is situated and on the other side, there is Gyanvapi Mosque. Here is the place where God Nandi is situated inside the boundaries of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple facing the Mosque.
In the mosque, this place is occupied by the Wazu Khana, it's a place for lavement before offering 'Namaz'. The Distance between Lord Nandi and Wazu Khana is around 28 yards. On one of the boundary walls of the mosque, a sculpture of Godess Shringar Gauri is present, who is worshiped by the devotees.

According to the survey of the archeology department under the orders of the court, on draining out the water of Wazu Khana, a 'Shivalinga' inside a round tank-like structure present in that Wazu Khana, and some more shreds of evidence were found indicating the presence of a Hindu temple at some period.

Where Hindus are claiming it to be a 'Shivalinga', the Muslim community is pointing that thing to be a fountain.

According to the Hindu culture, Lord Nandi must be sculpted facing toward 'Shivalinga', and the whole controversy took place because of the same thing that indeed Lord Nandi present in the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is facing towards the Mosque.

Quite a few of you may be known of the survey done in Gyanvapi Mosque where the survey team found some 'Swastik' signs and some more indicators in the basement of the Mosque that indicate the presence of a temple there. So Hindu community's appeal is that the court should pass orders for a proper inspection regarding the issue.
According to the survey report submitted by the archaeology team, the court stated on 12 September that the issue is trial worthy, dismissing the petition filed by the Muslim community.
